Valerie was one of four people selected for this once-in-a-life time opportunity to gain international leadership experience and work with the Director, Yan Yan from 501 in Chongqing.

Valerie Chang is a freelance consultant, curator and artistic producer specialising in the visual arts, in the public, independent and higher education arts sector. She has a BA in Fine Art and Design from Bradford College, and an MA in Museum and Gallery Management and recently gained a Postgraduate Certificate in Cultural Leadership at City University, London.

She has over 20 years of experience and gained a reputation curating exhibitions in the Visual Arts for public museum and galleries. She has achieved a successful reputation supporting the work of emerging UK and International based artists. Entrepreneurial in approach, she developed her consultancy ‘Creative Impact’.

She has developed innovative projects and contemporary exhibitions at South London Gallery, Pitzhanger Manor Museum and Gallery in London, the Mayor of London’s Office, Royal Academy of Arts, Thames Valley University and Horniman Museum (2007-2008) and left a legacy and curated a stunning art installation “ The Mirrored Community. She is currently a consultant for the Museum of London, developing a project “Beyond the Public Face” for the new galleries to open in 2010.
